Along with the masks of comedy and tragedy we will be joined by face masks!!

Our COVID-Safe procedures and Conditions of Entry

Hellenic Art Theatre is a registered COVID-Safe business, following guidelines set by the NSW State Government and Live Performance Australia. By registering on arrival, you agree to follow our COVID-Safe plan and to follow direction from our staff.

• Firstly, if you’re feeling unwell, please stay at home.

If you are unable to attend due to illness, we will try and find you a ticket for an alternative performance. Otherwise we will refund the cost of your ticket.

The safety of our community is of paramount importance. We have put measures in place to prioritize

the health and wellbeing of everyone.

You are Not permitted to enter Hellenic Art Theatre if you:

  • are experiencing any flu-like symptoms (sore throat, runny nose, persistent cough, shortness
of breath, fever)

  • have been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 (during the period in which the virus is contagious)

All visitors are asked to wear a mask and to sanitise their hands upon arrival and exercise proper social distancing while on site.

We will open the building one hour before showtime

Pop your mask on before you enter. Our staff will be wearing masks and we encourage our patrons to do so as well. If you have forgotten your mask, we will have disposable masks for sale at the door.

Temperature check

Our staff will check your temperature before entry. If your temperature is 37.5 or above, we will check again after 10 minutes. If it is still 37.5 degrees or above, then we are not permitted to allow you into the building.

Sanitise your hands

Hand sanitising stations will be available at the entry. We ask all to sanitise before entering.

Everyone who visits the ‘Greek Theatre’ is required by law to register for contact tracing.

By registering on arrival, you agree to follow our COVID-Safe plan and to follow direction from our staff. We are required to hold names and contact details of all patrons for 28 days. These are held securely and destroyed after 28 days.

Box Office

Our box office will open 1 hour prior to the show for any patrons that do not have access to online payments and for printing tickets for patrons that do not have printer access.

In the Foyer

In order to avoid mingling, patrons at all venues in NSW are required by law to be seated.

You can grab a drink or a nibble, but you will not be able to remain standing.

You can make your way to our snack Bar. There will be limited seating in the foyer.

There’s no need any more to wait in the foyer until the doors open. You can now head straight into the Theatre any time from half an hour before the show. You can

take your drinks and nibbles in there too.

The capacity in our foyer is strictly limited by the 4 square metre rule (up to 20 people). To avoid large number of people waiting in the foyer, our staff will kindly ask you to keep moving into the auditorium.

We strongly recommend you book online or call us to book and arrange payment, we will then email you a booking confirmation with your seat number. In order to limit contact we will no longer tear your ticket at the doors to the theatre. Instead we will sight your

ticket. If you have an e-ticket either print this out, or have it handy on your phone, and an usher will point you to your seat.

If you don’t have access to email our box office will be able to print you a ticket on the day.

In the Auditorium

There will be a two-seat gap between your seats and everyone else’s. Our maximum capacity in the auditorium is 85 patrons, instead of the usual 172, following the 4 square metre rule.

Group bookings will be seated in groups of max 2 with two spare seats between each group. If for example you have booked four tickets, two people will be seated together, there will be two free seats, then the other two people will be seated.

Enjoy the show!

At the end of the performance we ask you to vacate one row at a time. There will be no mingling in the foyer, and we ask that you do not congregate outside the theatre.

Don’t forget to:

• Keep 1.5 metres distance wherever possible.·

• Wash and sanitise your hands whenever possible.

• Sneeze or cough into your elbow.

We have also implemented a more intensive cleaning regime at the theatre, our staff will do regular additional cleaning/disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces during, before, and after each performance. This includes railings, door handles, toilets, taps and cubicle locks, chair backs and arm rests, pens, counter and tabletops.
